On 15 June 2026, Kamphaeng Phet Rajabhat University, through its International Relations and ASEAN Affairs Office, led a group of 50 participants from the ASEAN Young Leaders Program on a courtesy visit to the Embassy of the Philippines in Thailand, Bangkok. The visit aimed to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the Republic of the Philippines.
On this occasion, the delegation was warmly welcomed by Miss Ma Charmaine D. Guevara, First Secretary and Consul, and Miss Susan Phoebe R. Both diplomats graciously received the participants and delivered an informative presentation about the Philippines in a friendly and engaging atmosphere.
During the visit, Asst. Prof. Dr. Khumphicha Tantisantisom, Vice President for Academic Affairs, who led the delegation, remarked: "The ASEAN Young Leaders Program has now entered its 12th year under the ASEAN Population Development for Global Citizenship Project. The program aims to raise awareness of ASEAN citizenship and develop essential 21st-century skills among young people. It seeks to deepen participants’ understanding of the Philippines, strengthen leadership qualities, encourage confidence in international settings, and foster awareness of the important role ASEAN youth play in regional development. Furthermore, the program promotes harmonious coexistence based on mutual understanding of linguistic and cultural diversity, enabling young people from different backgrounds to live and work together successfully."
During the session, participants attended a comprehensive briefing on the Philippines, covering various aspects including education, economy, tourism, arts and culture, trade and investment, cuisine, and historical highlights. They also gained valuable insights into the Philippines’ role as the Chair of ASEAN in 2026.
The young participants actively engaged in discussions, confidently raising questions and sharing their perspectives with the embassy representatives in an open and friendly environment. Their enthusiasm, leadership potential, courage to express opinions, and strong global mindset reflected the qualities of future ASEAN leaders and made the university proud of their achievements.
